October 05 Monthly Report
It is pleasing to report that some good golf has been played since last month's report. Although visitor numbers continue to be marginally down on last year Club competitions have all been held with good numbers and were extremely competitive. In the men's competitions Simon (Hope) MacKenzie won the Arthur Treharne Stableford event held over 2 weeks, whilst the September Medal was won by Angus MacKenzie. Angus had also secured the August Medal so we must make certain that he does not make it 3 in a row next month!! We had a really good day when we hosted Strathpeffer here in glorious sunshine. The golf was extremely well contested and we finished all square at 3 matches each. For the ladies' their main event was the September medal. There were 6 competitors and only 2 strokes separated the top 3, Karen Starr finishing up winner.
The season does not finish until 15th October and there are still some good events to look forward to. In particular the final of the men's Knock-out Match play will be fought out by Simon (Hope) MacKenzie and Gus Murray and the ladies' Club Championship (Stableford) will be held.
As we come towards the end of the season, and visitors start to tail off, our regular clubhouse catering arrangements are planned to finish at the end of October. However Gus and Christine will open their "Tee" Room in the clubhouse from time to time during the close season and of course can always arrange any special functions if required.
As a reminder to all members the date of the AGM is Friday 25th November at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse, please come along as your views and support are always welcomed and volunteers will be needed to fill essential positions on the Committee.
