November Update
The Annual General Meeting of the club took place on Friday 13th November in the Clubhouse. Most of this season's committee were re-elected with the exception of our two Captains, Gus Murray and Keira McFleat. Both Gus and Keira stood down due to their work commitments, which they felt precluded them from being able to devote the time necessary in carrying out their duties. Gus has been our Captain for a few years now and has put a great deal of effort into organizing our Matches and Competitions, which he has done with great success especially in the Open. Many thanks Gus. Keira has been the Lady Captain for the last year and has continued to build on the work of her predecessor Karen Starr. Again thanks Keira. Our new Captains for the 2010 season will be Tom Watson as Men's Captain and Kay Liston as Lady Captain and we wish them well for the new season.
The club remains in a healthy financial position although we saw a slight drop in Green Fee's this year compared with 2008. Perhaps the weather had something to do with it Work will continue over the winter and spring on course improvement but as always will depend to a great extent on the weather.
The Winter League is now well under way and support has been good with some close fought competitions played. All members are welcome to play.
Don't forget the New Year Opening Game on 2nd January 2010. Tee Off at 12 o'clock. Come and join the fun. Soup and Stovies afterwards. Following the game the Annual Prize Giving will take place.
