February Update
Tricky weather conditions have made it a little more difficult to play last month, but as the winter league competitions draw towards their climax, we see that Bill Roberts may be in an unassailable lead in the men's while the recent win by Karen Starr leaves the ladies' competition undecided prior to the last game in March.
There are a good number of jobs to do at the course and in and around the clubhouse this year to keep everything looking smart, so members are invited to come and help by offering their services at any time of the day (or evening) that suits them on the first Monday of every month from April to October. A list of work will be posted on the noticeboard so that everyone knows what there is to do. Please come along and help if you can. Of course, this doesn't mean you can't help out at any other time if you can't manage Mondays!
The greens will be cored again soon in order to maintain them in the excellent condition we all appreciated last season. We would appreciate everyone's forbearance as the sand works its way into the turf and the uneven surface settles down again.
Membership renewal forms will be arriving on your doormats very shortly so please look out for them. The draw for free membership in 2009 was won by Kay Liston. Congratulations Kay. If members would like to enter the draw for next year, the details will be on your renewal form. Good luck!
Please note that from now on the clubhouse will be open restricted hours for the winter.
As always, new members and visitors are very welcome! An honesty box system for green fees runs when the clubhouse is closed. Do sign the visitors book and give your comments.
