March Update
Did I say last month that Spring was just around the corner? I am sitting here writing this update with snow flurries in the air…perhaps it's all in the mind.
The new season starts on Saturday 30th March with the annual Flag Day competition. It's anyone's guess who'll take the prize this year. You never know, if you come along, it could be YOU! The following week we'll be straight into monthly medals and other competitions. There will also be one or two extra events this year, so please check your membership cards for full details.
As some of you already know, it's our centenary this year, and we're taking this opportunity to kick-start our fund raising for future course improvements. So far, we've held two events. The pub quiz, generously hosted by the Rockvilla Hotel, raised £200, and the sale of work, very kindly opened by Mr Ewen Macpherson, raised £750. There are too many people to thank individually for a power of work that goes into organising and running these events, so I hope you all know that your efforts are really most appreciated. I'd also like to thank the businesses that donated produce for sale or raffle.
Please note that the TEE ROOM will be open in the clubhouse (restricted hours initially) as from Easter Sunday. If you need to contact the clubhouse and/or caterers, then please call Gus on 07516 554336.
As always, new members and visitors are very welcome! An honesty box system for green fees runs when the clubhouse is closed.
