May 2007 Newsletter
May was a month of mixed weather and mixed fortunes. On 5th the team journeyed to Strathpeffer where we had a good day but came away losing by 3.1/2 pts to 1.1/2 pts. On the 12th our June Medal was played in overcast conditions with some rain on front 9. Tom Watson came home in front with a good Nett 55. On Wednesday 16th again in overcast conditions Tom again came home in first place with another good round of 56. Saturday 19th saw us entertain our visitors Fort Augustus. On a day marred by rain our team contrived to narrowly lose the match by 3.1/2 pts to 2.1/2 pts. The Thompson Trophy was contested on 23rd again in overcast conditions with our Captain Gus Murray returning a Nett 66 to take the trophy. In somewhat wintery conditions on the 26th which gave us hailstones!, and somewhat chilly conditions we played for the Nanite Trophy. A newcomer to our ranks Bill Roberts returned a Nett 62 to claim his first trophy with us. Well done Bill.
